[When Scott had last been aware, he'd been somewhere near the deserts of Mexico. Where in Mexico, he couldn't be sure, though there'd certainly been enough heat and sand to last a lifetime. It simply made no sense to pass out and wake up in a snowpile, more underdressed than he'd been in the summer sun. It's an understatement to call Scott alarmed. He scrambled to his feet, ears straining for the sound of something other than the whistling wind of a cold breeze. It must have been the fight he'd had with Mystique. He'd obviously lost, and she'd had him shipped to a different corner of the globe instead. Is she planning to keep abandoning him in different places until the elements kill him outright? He doubts he'll last long in sub-zero conditions without even a blanket to insulate him.

No. Scott decides instantly that he isn't in the mood to die today. Nothing good comes from pessimism. He'd found people in the bowels of a foreign country before, and he'll just have to do it again here too. Judging by the temperature, there might at least be some Inuit family that might be willing to share their igloo.]

Hello? [He ventures a greeting cautiously, and dares to crack a single eye open to see if there's some sort of civilization nearby. The small gesture alone sends a bright red beacon ripping through the flurrying snow -- hopefully not into anyone's personal property. There seemed to be some manmade structures just off to the left of the snapshot image he'd gotten. It wasn't enough of a visual to notice the journal lying open at his feet, but he isn't really in much of a reading mood anyway.]

I-is... anyone there? [He tries it again, more assertive now despite the telltale shiver in his tone. If there's at least one house, then there has to be people somewhere. With people come options. Maybe they'll have a phone he can use to call the mansion and get help sent out, or perhaps they'd at least have a first-aid kit and would be nice enough to patch up whatever injury was causing that bone-deep pain in his shoulderblades. If nothing else, hopefully the people here speak English.]

[When he does rest an arm around her, she seems stable. Good. It means he doesn't have to feel bad about leaning on her as heavily as he is now. Rogue's solid enough to take it.]

[This is... very bizarre. She looks straight ahead in order to keep her focus where it should be.]

All things considered? Not the strangest thing I've ever heard, no.

[Theirs is a universe that includes Forge and spontaneous dinosaur-inhabited hell dimensions, after all.]

I don't know where ta start... this place is called Luceti. Everyone here gets sorta... sucked in from different worlds. We're inside a barrier that cuts our powers in half. There's plenty of food an' water - everything's free. We just hafta put up with village-wide experiments an' being sent out ta fight their battles for 'em. And no, no one's been able ta get out.

[He nods - he's heard most of that from people in the journal already.]

What do you mean 'our' powers, though? Are there other mutants here?

Not so's they would say... but there was a while when Superman was here. I got ta speak ta Batman once. Met a kid who was green an' could shapeshift into any animal he wanted... an' then there's the gal who can heal with her powers an' create water out of thin air, not ta mention the magic users... There are people here from every world you've ever thought of, an' some you haven't.

Kurt an' I actually got ta rescue Scotty once.

[Not that Star Trek was her thing, but she knows how you and Kurt used to kid about that.]

[Yeah. Kurt bamfed in halfway through Rogue's last spiel. Too late for confirming that his own presence is another mutant. But enough for the Scotty bit.]

I got to meet the original teleporter. Way cool, yeah?

[Totally the best way to make an entrance.]

[JESUS KURT give a guy some warning. Scott jumps at the sudden entrance, releasing Rogue entirely once he gets a good look at exactly who it is. He's not about to get caught slouched all over Rogue while in the presence of someone who'd get into teasing him about it.]

Kurt -- you're here too? I just saw you this morning!

Gah!

[And she immediately misses the warmth of his arm around her shoulders.]

Kurt!

[Not important. Priorities, Rogue.]

'bout time you got here. Can ya get him to the Clothes Shop, straight away?

[Inside, shelter, clothes - and heck, distance and time for her to collect herself. Not bad things.]

I'll catch up with ya.

[Wow, it's like he busted in on something intimate, which stands out all the more with their sudden reaction. He can't even hide his toothy grin. Also, now that he's standing up straight, those two glowing eyes are sticking out now.]

Ahh, well, it's been a lot longer for me, man. [To Rogue:] I could just take both of you at once, yeah?

[NOTHING INTIMATE. He wasn't being needy or vulnerable or anything. Also Kurt what is wrong with your face.]

A lot longer, from the look of it.

[Guys? She's freezing here. And emotionally overwhelmed, so.]

If ya can take us both, fine. Let's go.

[It's COLD and she has thin Southern blood, okay?]

[And Kurt has a fur coat. What are you guys worried about? But whatever. He takes one shoulder each.]

Aye aye, warp factor three!

[THIS GANG IS GOING TO THE CLOTHING SHOP. TELEPORTER STYLE.]

[Scott has to admit, it's pretty useful to have a guy like Kurt around. Suddenly, warmth.]

[Warmth in what seems to be a very public place. He grips Kurt's shoulder in return and shoves him down, hopefully before some poor clerk can see him and have a heart attack.] Dude, your watch.

[If it's possible to 'pff' and wince at the same time internally, Rogue does it.]

Naw, it's okay.

[She says as she takes a few steps to the side of Scott - just in case, you know all that skin and... yeah - and wraps her arms around herself to trap in some of the warmth.]

[Ow! Kurt winces at being pulled down like that. Not cool!]

Oww, easy man! My watch is at home. Didn't Rogue tell you? This is like, weirdo-ville. No one cares about fuzzy dudes here.

What do you mean your watch is at home? ["No one cares" is not a concept that makes any sense at all in Scott's opinion. The mansion is lying in rubble, the very idea of going back to school sends half of the younger kids breaking out into hives, and Kurt wants to talk about nobody caring? There's mutant pride, and then there's suicide.]

What kind of community is this? [He turns his attention to Rogue now, because she really should have been making sure Kurt didn't do anything stupid.]

The kind where everythin's free an' the general populace is made up a bunch of goody-two-shoes... an' supervillains. There doesn't seem ta be much space in between.

[Speaking of everything being free... feel like putting a shirt on? Anytime soon? Sometime... you know, soon?]

[Yeah, Kurt is going to throw a shirt at Scott's head. That's for shoving!]

What she said. I haven't used my watch in forever, man. I barely even make the Top Ten in weird around here.

[All right ALL RIGHT FINE he'll be tugging that shirt over his head. The shoving was very warranted though!] You're both losing me. I thought this was supposed to be some kind of giant jail.

[Also hold on this shirt thing isn't as easy as it looked at first.] ...Either one of you want to give me a little help with the wings?

[Ugh, she hates you, Scott Summers.

Rogue moves over to him, somehow unable to picture Kurt helping. At least he grabbed a shirt with the slots.]

This might be a touch... sensitive.

Which she can do. Because there's a lot to concentrate on, in touching someone's wings, let alone someone's new wings, but also in making sure to actually touch as little as possible.

Which means the explanation on how low you've fallen on the list of weird is back to you, Kurt.]

[Kurt swishes his tail a bit. He was going to offer to put some holes into the shirt, but far be it for him to interrupt... whatever it is those two are doing. He turns away to look at some hats, while explaining away.]

Maybe it helps to think less jail and more penal colony, yeah? We're like Australia, only with less dangerous wildlife.
